We are proud to announce that the Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility has awarded its Gold Seal of Approval as a Socially Responsible Company, to the InterContinental Hotel Warszawa.  InterContinental becomes the 56th Socially Responsible Company to receive the Foundation’s Gold Seal of Approval.

InterContinental Warszawa, although the newest five-star property in Warsaw, already has a long history of being socially responsible.   InterContinental Warszawa, both as a member of the InterContinental Hotels Group and as a company operating on the local market, is very much involved in local community issues.  Among others, it supported a conference of Our Home Association (Towarzystwo Nasz Dom), a Polish non-governmental organization (NGO) which aims at the reformation of the child welfare system in Poland. Since 1991 “Our Home” has assisted over 200 children’s homes and other facilities and programs for neglected children, in professional training, awarding financial grants, donations in kind, and other non-financial grants. The Association also helps individuals from child welfare institutions with vocational training, or managing independent living projects. The Association has become one of the most important Polish NGOs dealing with the problems of orphaned and/or neglected children.

InterContinental also led charity activities during the 2003, and 2004 Christmas seasons, and is planning a new project with Habitat for Humanity Warsaw, “The Joy of Building" Foundation, founded to provide help to low-income families in need of housing.

InterContinental Warszawa also enjoys the distinction of being awarded the title   “Hotel Without Barriers 2004” by Friends of the Integration Society (Stowarzyszenie Przyjaciół Integracji).

‘We are very proud of being a member of such an important initiative as the Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility. I am sure that having all these great companies as members and working together, gives a guarantee of success,” said Mr. Karl Hala, General Manager of InterContinental Warszawa.

The InterContinental Brand was established in 1946 and has continued to build its reputation of responding to the needs of international business travelers and tourists, showing how to balance the highest international standards with local market requirements.

InterContinental Hotels and Resorts is a prestigious hotel network.  The InterContinental Hotel Warszawa is the 136th hotel in the network.  The Group owns, manages, leases and franchises through various subsidiaries, more than 3,300 hotels and 515,000 guest rooms in nearly 100 countries and territories around the world.

We are very proud that the InterContinental Hotel Warszawa has become a member of the Foundation for Corporate Responsibility.  We look forward to working closely with Karl Hala and his highly respected professional staff in making life in Poland better for everyone.
