AND WHAT A WAY FOR ALITALIA TO BEGIN… 2 FREE BUSINESS CLASS TICKETS TO ROME!!!

When George heard that we were asking our Foundation’s CEOs to donate lottery prizes to benefit our Foundation’s Hot-Meal program at the PGA Cup Golf Tournament this week, he immediately contributed the Grand-Prize of TWO ROUNDTRIP BUSINESS CLASS TICKETS TO ROME! How’s that for an introduction to the Foundation?

Craig Smith, CEO of EuroProperty announced a few weeks ago that a lottery will be held to benefit our FOUNDATION’S HOT-MEAL program at the PGA CUP Golf Tournament JUNE 1-3RD. The event will be held at the First Golf and Country Club, and there is still time for our member CEOs to donate a few special prizes for the lottery and to purchase tickets to win the Alitalia Business Class Tickets to Rome. There are still opportunities to play, sponsor, or get some VIP spectator tickets.

All Foundation Member CEOs are cordially invited to attend the May 31st Golfer/Sponsor cocktail mixer and lottery at the InterContinental Hotel Warsaw beginning at 18:30. Now, that’s tomorrow evening. Come and win the Alitalia Business Class tickets to Rome by purchasing lottery tickets (20 PLN each). The more tickets you buy, the more hot meals we can feed our 3,000 PromiseKids.

If you can’t attend, I will buy your lottery tickets for you and personally deliver your tickets to Rome to you. Transfer 100, 200 or more PLN to our Foundation’s account below and send me an email with your lottery ticket request. Natalie, Virginia and I will do the rest. This is the next best thing to being there.

For further information about the event please contact Craig Smith at craig@europaproperty.com or mobile +48 604 144 769.

PGA CUP GOLF TOURNAMENT TO BENEFIT PROMISEKIDS

June 1-3rd - PGA Golf Cup Tournament and Lottery to benefit our PromiseKids.

CARGILL KEEPS THE MILK FLOWING FOR THE PROMISEKIDS

John Wayne may never have said “Get off your horse and drink your milk” in one of his movies, but the “Duke” would have been proud to know that Cargill will once again make it possible for our PromiseKids to “get off their horses and drink their milk” again this school year. Yes, through a matching grant program arranged between Cargill Polska and Cargill USA, Cargill will provide fresh milk each school day to our PromiseKids in our 15 PromiseLand schools. This will be the fifth consecutive year that Cargill has provided the milk for our Foundation’s Hot-meal program. Now, that’s a major WOW!

One of General Manager, Roger Watchorn’s last efforts was to transfer the Polish contribution of 60.000 PLN to our Foundation’s account. Roger will transfer back to the United States in the next couple of week. We will soon prepare a proposal for a grant from Cargill USA, and the Cargill Global Partners Fund in the United States of America.

We are proud to have the full support and backing of Cargill, with its rich agricultural history dating back to W. W. Cargill’s first grain storage facility on the American Frontier in 1865. The company has grown to become one of the largest, privately owned businesses, providing food, agricultural products, and services around the globe. Cargill employs 142,000 people in 61 countries.

We are delighted that Roger Watchorn caught the Foundation’s vision over the past 3 years and became an active participant in all Foundation activities. We will miss Roger as he departs for his next Cargill duty station in Minneapolis.

We thank you Cargill and we thank you Roger (photo below) for this incredible gift to our PromiseKids.

YOUNG POLES RELUCTANT TO VOLUNTEER

A recent survey by Eurobarometer shows that only about 16 percent of young Poles take part in volunteer work. They are also reluctant to join and participate in sporting and cultural organizations. In fact, only 26 percent stated that they took part in this sort of activity in 2010. Out of the EU countries, Poland took last place in this category, far behind the Dutch who are in first place with nearly 68 percent. Analysts say the survey exposes a mindset reminiscent of the communist era, when membership in an organization was seen as supporting the system. Parents who grew up with this mindset rarely participate in such organizations, and therefore their children see no value participating as well. Most young Poles seem to be mostly concerned with investing their time and attention to activities that will result in a good job with good pay, and see no real value in volunteering.

It’s no wonder we have trouble attracting Polish CEOs to our Foundation’s membership.

POLES UNHAPPY WITH THEIR JOBS

A recent study done by Sedlak & Sedlak shows that only every third Polish worker is satisfied with their current job. The results show that the key to career satisfaction lies in the monetary reward the person is able to attain in their respective position. Those who are able to receive a high salary are usually the first to respond positively when asked about their job.

Over 57 percent of those in higher or directorial positions were content with their careers, while only 22 percent of workers in lower level jobs were satisfied.
