It is with great pleasure that we welcome Raiffeisen Bank Polska, S.A. as a new Foundation member and commend Raiffeisen for showing its firm commitment to investing in Corporate Social Responsibility in Poland. We will bestow our Foundation’s Gold Seal of Approval as a Socially Responsible Company on Raiffeisen Bank at our next Foundation’s CEO Breakfast to be held at the Sheraton Warsaw Hotel on October 17th.
Raiffeisen Bank Polska was established in 1991 and belongs to the Austrian Raiffeisen Group. It is 100 percent owned by Raiffeisen Bank International A.G. Raiffeisen Bank focuses on the Small and Medium Enterprise business sector, as well as large international companies. Raiffeisen attracts a large number of clients from the Polish middle class.
Raiffeisen has developed rapidly over the years, and now operates 100 locations and employs over 3000 people in its branches throughout Poland. Our Foundation is in the process of opening accounts at Raiffeisen Bank, and will notify our members when we finalize this process.
We are very proud to have this outstanding bank as a member of our network of Socially Responsible Companies, and we thank Raiffeisen’s super President and Chief Executive Officer, Piotr Czarnecki for taking this very responsible move of joining our Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility. We also welcome our Raiffeisen Banking Specialist, Grzegorz Wodarski to the Foundation and thank him for helping us transition our banking relationship.
the competition was rough, and the selection process was tough, but the final results are in… Our 15 PromiseLand Schools each selected their best all-around student to qualify as an InterContinental Scholar and board the bus for a trip of a lifetime. Now, the excitement begins as they make their plans for their three-day adventure in Warsaw from July 1-4.
The PromiseLand Express will pull up in front of the 5-Star InterContinental Hotel on that Friday afternoon with a special cargo of 15-InterContinental Scholars on board. It will be a grueling 9-hour trip from Swidwin, but the PromiseKids will be no worse for wear, and will hit the ground running.
This is the 4th year the InterContinental Hotel has hosted the InterContinental Scholars Program for our PromiseKids. The kids will graduate from their respective schools and with little rest under their belts embark on this 3-night four day trip. Natalie and the Hotel staff have arranged a very full schedule for our kids:

Friday, the 22nd of June will be graduation day for our PromiseLand Schools. It will also be the end of our Foundation's "Dreams Come True" interactive English program for the school year for the 202 PromiseKids in the program. We are not a part of the Polish School Curriculum so our English students did their studies in the PromiseLand Schools before school began each morning or during lunch recess, or after school hours. They did a remarkable job under such hardships.
Meg Ciucka, Foundation Program Director, will award certificates and dictionaries to all 202 participants and special awards to the very best students. The overall winner award, a camera, will be presented to Monika Biniek (1st place at beginner level for gymnasium), Anna Pugacza from Bierzwnica (1st place at Intermediate level for gymnasium) and Michalina Szymurska from Bierzwnica (1st place at beginner level for elementary school). Randstad has something really special planned for our PromiseKids on August 18-19th. Plans are nearing completion for a cruise like no other cruise we have ever experienced. Randstad Poland is the Polish subsidiary of the Randstad Group, one of the largest staffing organizations in the world, and they love our PromiseKids.
Forty-six 5th and 6th grade PromiseKids aged 12-13 years, have been selected to participate on the cruise from the Nowe Worowo, Lekowo, Oarzno, Brzezno and Bierzwnica PromiseLand Schools. A painting contest called the “Sailing Clipper” was held in the above schools during the month of May. The artists of the best pictures from 180 entries were selected for the cruise.
