FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Democratic economics is Corporate Social Responsibility in the broadest sense—planning and acting together (corporately) for the greater good of all.

THE GREATER GOOD OF ALL – TAKE KFC FOR EXAMPLE

We intend to announce at our 8th Annual Dinner Dance on February 13th that our Foundation has fed over 5 million meals to poor, hungry Polish children through our Hot-Meal Program. We are very excited and proud of this monumental accomplishment, but realize that we couldn’t have done it without the full support and cooperation of KFC and its parent company AmRest. If you didn’t know, we receive 50,000 PLN each month from this incredibly generous CSR partner company.

Behind every successful company is a true leader. In this particular case, we want to salute the incredible efforts of AmRest leader Drew O’Malley who first suggested the partnership between our FCSR and KFC some 8 years ago. I can’t think of a better time to salute Drew than now, as he ascends to his newly appointed position of Division President of AmRest for Central Europe.

Drew previously served AmRest as KFC President, and as Managing Director of Starbucks. He has worked very closely over the past 8 years with AmRest Founder and Chairman, Henry McGovern is assuring that our PromiseKids received a hot-meal each school year. The result… 5 million meals served!

Congratulations Drew O’Malley for your well deserved promotion and for your servant’s heart that never forgets our PromiseKids.

A WELCOME TO OUR DINNER DANCE GUESTS FROM HILTON GENERAL MANAGER, REMCO NORDEN

For the fifth year in a row, it is my distinct honor and privilege to welcome members and friends of the Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility to the Warsaw Hilton Hotel and Convention Center on the occasion of the Foundation’s 8th Annual Dinner Dance. Festivities get underway in our Grand Ballroom on February 13th at 18:30 and you can be sure that I will be there to greet each and every one of you.

It is no secret here at the Hilton that the Foundation’s Annual Dinner Dance is one of our favorite events of the year. Our administrators and staff look forward to the day when the PromiseLand bus pulls into our Hotel’s driveway with its very special cargo of 50 enthusiastic PromiseKids. I especially love the look of surprise and wonderment on their faces as they pass through our revolving front door and capture for the first time the splendor and grandeur of the Hilton’s celebrated chandelier and elegant lobby. I wouldn’t miss it for anything!

Hilton GM Remco Norden with PromiseKids at 2010 Dinner Dance

“What a wonderful world” is this year’s theme, and the PromiseKids will present their version of famous songs and dances from the 7 continents. The kids have been rehearsing, sewing costumes, rehearsing, making posters, rehearsing, making props, rehearsing… for the past 4 months. Love will be in the air from the time you arrive until the time the “Best Band in the Land” 36.6 plays Goodnight Sweetheart at 23:00.

Our Executive Chef has planned what we think is the most exquisite menu ever served in Poland to a sit-down dinner party for more than 500 guests. How does all this sound to you?

We look forward to hosting you on this very special evening for a celebration of some of Poland’s greatest kids.
See you on February 13th.
