FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Business leaders have often discovered the path to sustainability after an epiphany--one usually based on a personal, painful, and unexpected experience. Today, that need for epiphanies is less urgent with a growing number of leaders getting to the same point through cold, hard business logic. John Elkington, CSRwire, 3/9/12.

WE WELCOME NEW FOUNDATION MEMBER MCKB

It is with great pleasure that we welcome master constructor MCKB sp.zo.o as a new member of the Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility. We thank Brian Burrough, Advisory Council Member, for introducing us to MCKB at our recent Annual Dinner Dance.

MCKB sp. z o.o. is a Lodz-based construction company which operates in the industrial, public and residential sectors across Poland.

Established in 1991, the company has a superb track record for on-time delivery of professional, high-quality projects in the private and public sectors. MCKB specializes in construction of industrial buildings, as well as commercial and logistic centers which always meet the highest quality standards. The company has developed an excellent portfolio of national and international clients. In the recent years, MCKB has been involved mainly in contracts for construction of production buildings and logistic centers. In the last three years, as a general contractor, MCKB has successfully completed more than 12 construction projects with a total value of almost € 60m. MCKB is well trusted by investors and has gathered extensive experience thanks to a number of technologically advanced projects executed for demanding clients.

The headquarters of MCKB is located in Lodz; the company also has an office in Wroclaw. Having a location in the center of Poland helps MCKB to execute construction projects on time and within budget. Company services are carried out to fulfill client's expectations – to the highest standards, and in an environmentally-friendly way. MCKB attaches importance to observance of Health and Safety at Work rules and regularly carries out audits and rigorous internal control procedures. Furthermore the company aims to minimize impact on the natural environment at every stage of the project by introducing innovative technical solutions and by cooperating closely with local communities.

MCKB works for demanding clients who value superior quality, safety and experience and appreciate the high, international standard of work. Constant cooperation with such investors as ABB, SCA Hygiene Products, Amcor Rentsch, Reckitt Benckiser, TKG, HT Lancet, Procter & Gamble and Segro, highlights the good reputation of MCKB.

We are very proud to have such an outstanding company as MCKB as a member of the Foundation, and we really appreciate the following quote by MCKB President of the Board Piotr Grabowicz, “I am impressed by a remarkable commitment of FCSR to Polish children. It is a great honor for me and for our company to support FCSR.”

GOLD SEAL OF APPROVAL FOR THE REAGAN LEGACY FOUNDATION

It was a great pleasure to present our Foundation’s Gold Seal of Approval to Michael Reagan, President of the Reagan Legacy Foundation in Hollywood last week. The Reagan Legacy Foundation is a new Cooperating Organization of our Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility, and has sponsored 3 of our PromiseKids on Reagan Legacy Tours of the United States.

Michael, son of the late U.S. President Ronald Reagan, has a passion for preserving his father’s commitment to freedom and democracy in the former Soviet Countries. He also has a major commitment to helping our PromiseKids who were not caught in freedoms safety net when the Berlin Wall came tumbling down in 1989.

It was also a distinct pleasure to have Donal Bailey join me in making the presentation to Michael. Donal is President of Foundation Member Company, Alpha Solutions, and was in Hollywood on business. Michael, Donal and I had the opportunity of discussing the possibility of sponsoring a Freedom and Democracy Conference in Poland for our PromiseKids in the fall. We will keep you posted.
