50 FOUNDATION CEOs GATHER FOR ANNUAL MEETING AND BREAKFAST

We were delighted to welcome 50 of our Foundation CEOs at Friday’s Annual Meeting and Breakfast at the InterContinental Hotel in Warsaw. It was a magnificent sunny morning filled with energy, excitement, great food, and enthusiasm. It was a time for these industry leaders to meet and greet old friends and colleagues, and to meet new business leaders who share a similar excitement for our Foundation and the poor children we serve.

Outgoing GM Christian Henkemeier, and Incoming GM Marten Schoenrock

We were greeted and welcomed by two InterContinental Hotel General Managers Christian Henkemeir and Marten Schoenrock. As it turned out, Friday was Christian’s last day as General Manager and Marten Schoenrock’s first day as General Manager. We thank Christian for all he has done for our Foundation over the past 5 years, and look forward to working closely with our new friend Marten Schoenrock. We are blessed living the “InterContinental Life” here in Warsaw, Poland.

OCTOBER IS WORLD HUNGER RELIEF MONTH AT ALL KFC STORES

Yum Brands, owner of KFC and Pizza Hut globally, has decided to make October World Hunger Relief month. Yum has asked all franchisees to join them in raising money for a UN Hunger Relief program in Africa. Franchisee AmRest loves the cause of hunger relief all year long and already contributes 50,000 zl. to our Foundation’s Hot-meal program each month for needy Polish children. We are happy to announce that AmRest will also participate in Yums month long October campaign but will contribute the money raised in their 170 KFC stores to our Foundation’s Hot-Meal program. What an incredible opportunity for AmRest and for the Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility.

This is how the campaign works… Beginning today, KFC employees will ask their customers at all 170 restaurants in Poland to contribute 1 zloty per transaction to our Foundation’s Hot-Meal Program. The program will run for the entire month of October in hopes that KFC and the Foundation can have a significant impact on hunger in Poland.

We ask that all of our members and friends frequent their local KFC restaurants during the month of October and help us in this incredible effort to relieve hunger in Poland. We don’t know how we can express our thanks enough to AmRest, KFC and Yum Brands for including our Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility in this wonderful fundraising effort.

DUTCH RIJSTTAFEL BALL 2012 RAISES 26,500 PLN FOR OUR PROMISEKIDS

What a wonderful evening it was for Natalie, Meg, Basia, Pablo and me. We all attended the Dutch Rijsttafel Ball on Saturday evening at the Warsaw Hotel and Convention Center. The food was superb, and the company was interesting and exciting. We had a large contingent of Foundation members in attendance, and our Dutch hosts were most gracious to us all. The Netherlands – Polish Chamber of Commerce once again designated our Foundation as the recipient of the funds raised during the incredible raffle conducted by our Dutch friends. As the photo below shows, they even gave our Foundation gang the opportunity to sing our special version of “What a Wonderful World.”

We participated along with some 300+ members of the Dutch business community in an evening of eating and dancing followed by the highly anticipated raffle. When all of the money was counted, our Foundation Coffers were 26,500 zl. fuller. A big thanks Elro van den burg and all of the members of the Chamber for remembering our PromiseKids again this year.
