Yum Brands declared October World Hunger Relief month at all KFC restaurants worldwide, and AmRest is responding by raising funds for our Foundation’s PromiseKids in its 215 KFC Restaurants. AmRest, through its KFC Brand has already provided over a million Zloty to our Foundation’s Hot-Meal Program over the years.
The campaign began on Thursday when KFC employees began asking their customers at all 215 KFC restaurants to contribute 1 zloty per transaction to our Foundation’s Hot-Meal Program. We trust that Ola’s melancholy face (above on poster) will entice customers to make a contribution to our hunger campaign. The program will run for the entire month of October and we hope that KFC and the Foundation can have a significant impact on hunger in Poland as a result.
We ask that all of our members and friends frequent their local KFC restaurants during the month of October and help us in this incredible effort to relieve hunger in Poland. We don’t know how we can express our thanks enough to AmRest, KFC, and Yum Brands for including our Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility in this wonderful fundraising effort.
Just like clockwork, the Fanex delivery truck pulled up to our PromiseKitchen door with a delivery of Fanex products for our Promisekids. What a time our staff will have preparing just the right meals for our kids using the 120 units of ketchup, 40 units of tomato concentrate, 90 units of Danish dressing, and 9 units of chocolate dressing, and 10 units of mayonnaise. Halina, our kitchen Director promises some very special tomato soup during the first few weeks of the school year.
For more than two years Foundation member company Fanex has provided these valuable products to our PromiseKids, and we are very grateful. We don’t know how to thank you enough Fanex, Roman, and Piotr Kubiczek for helping our PromiseKids. You guys are the best…
We are very proud to report that over the past 10 years, we have fed as many as 3,000 school children each school day in 15 public schools. With the generous support of KFC and our other member companies, we have fed over 5 million meals to the poor children (PromiseKids) of the Zachodniopomorskie Region of Poland.
We intend to celebrate this accomplishment throughout our 10th Anniversary Year. We will kick off 2013 with a very special Annual Dinner Dance “Keeping our Promise – 10 Years.” We will present some of the highlights of our previous dinner dances for your entertainment and pleasure.
You all are invited to join us at the Warsaw Hilton Hotel and Convention Center at 18:30 on January 21, 2013. Remco Norden and the great folks at Hilton will once again host this extravaganza for us. We have reserved a table for each member company as before, so please mark your calendars accordingly. We will send our members their table numbers and locations in the next few weeks.
The photo below shows our own Dinner Dance Producer Basia Kolasinska and volunteer costume designer Monika Ciszewska as they shop for just the right material for our Dinner Dance Production.
Tax time is approaching quickly, and companies and individuals who owe money to the tax man are making preparations for payment. The Polish Public Benefit Act permits companies and individuals to designate 1% of the tax they owe to the government to a public benefit foundation. For the first time, the Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility is qualified to receive this 1% and we would like you to consider making your 1% designation to us.
After a year of legal work, our Foundation is now designated as a Public Benefit Organization (OPP) under Polish Tax Law. The Public Benefit and Volunteer Work Act permits our member companies, their employees and all other tax payers, to donate 1% of the income tax they owe to the Polish Tax Office to our Foundation. This money will be used to support our work in feeding, educating and empowering poor children in Poland.
This change in the Public Benefit Act was long in coming, and was the first major tax change that directly benefits those with special needs in Poland. You will see more of the poster (above) as we come to the end of 2012, and trust that our supporters will now begin making arrangement with their accountants to designate their corporate and personal 1% to our Foundation.
We are frequently approached by individuals who would like to help support our Foundation’s Hot-Meal Program. Our Dollar a Day program may be just what you have been looking for and the PayPal method of delivering your money makes it so easy. We pay just about $1.00 to feed one hungry Polish child a hot-meal per school day, $20.00 per month, $200.00 per year. Click PayPal below to contribute.
