"If we did all the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves."
-- Thomas Edison
New FCSR President, Virginia Chasey, met with the Foundation’s Advisory Council on September 16, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Warsaw.. She thanked the members for their ongoing commitment to the Foundation, especially during this transition period following the passing of our dearly missed Founder and Past President, Bill Chasey. Virginia then gave a “State of the Foundation” report and laid out a plan for moving forward.
The Foundation is now 46 members strong. Our faithful staff, Natalie, Meg and Basia will continue to administer the programs in Warsaw and in the PromiseLand.. While we have had to make some cuts in administrative expenses, the Foundation is financially stable due to the continuing support of our members. We look forward to some exciting changes, challenges and new initiatives for 2015-2016.
A special thanks to GM Marten Schoenrock and member company, the Intercontinental Hotel for hosting the breakfast meeting!
Here are a few of the highlights.
For our members and supporters:
For Our PromiseKids – New Educational Program: Keeping Our Kids Healthy!
- “Healthy Living” - a new after school program in three of our schools, focusing on nutrition, cooking and making healthy meals, gardening and exercise. It will include a weekend visit and educational program at the national “Green Reserve” center in the Swidwin region and end with a “Top-Chef” competition in the spring. Parents have already indicated a desire to be included. Isn’t that wonderful? It’s obvious that this is going to be a popular program in the PromiseLand!
In addition we will continue with the English language program, dance and music and the hot meal program. While the Helping Hand Medical Aid Program is not in our budget, we do have 13 children who have applied for medical assistance and hope that someone will step forward with the 5000PLN to help these children.
More details on all these programs and events will follow as dates are confirmed and plans developed.
It is going to be a great year!
We are happy to welcome Pure Sky Club and Managing Director, Paul Cowen to the Foundation!
If you have not visited the Sky Club, you are in for a treat. It boasts some of the best views of Warsaw, serving as a wonderful backdrop for your meetings, dinners and entertainment.
