The ten, 4TH grade PromiseKid Scholars hosted by the Intercontinental Hotel Warsaw this August, wanted to send their own personalized thanks to ICH GM Marten Schoenrock and ICH staff. They sure had some wonderful memories! If you would like to experience the trip with them, follow the link:https://youtu.be/uIytQ7gkVyY
Excitement was in the air! Feet were stomping; Music was blaring! Time for the first auditions for the “You Can Dance in the PromiseLand” competition, organized by FCSR Dance and Arts Director, Basia Kolasinska.
Dancers from the Mielenko Drawskie and Toporzyk schools competed for the coveted places. Next week, Basia will go to Brzezno, Oparzno, Nielep, Lekowo and Netno Schools. In all we expect over 100 students will be involved in this after school dance program!
This is always a big event not only for the kids, but the schools, parents and the whole community. Our wonderful Basia works with every selected dancer and dance group to make sure they not only have fun, but do their best in performing. More to come as they get into the “swing” of things
The call went out. “Little Chef” KFC/FCSR self reliance cooking workshops to begin!
Not only did we have a tremendous turnout, but there was a huge increase in the number of boys participating! Was it the call of the chopping knife? The tasty smoothies? The cute girls in the class?? We don’t ask. We’re just happy that they are there and will learn how to lead healthy lives…
The one-percent you donate to the Foundation enables us to support and empower our PromiseKids, not just through FCSR programs, but very often community programs that need additional help. So many of our kids have nothing to do after school, beyond what we provide them. So, when well organized groups appeal for support, our Foundation tries to help in whatever way we can.
One such group is the middle school handball team, “MKS Zawisza” in Swidwin.
The team is well attended, coached and competitive, but they lacked money for uniforms and practice balls. FCSR bought them new sports shirts with our logo and 6 handballs. The boys were thrilled to have matching team uniforms and can’t wait to compete in the fall handball tournaments. Go team MKS Zawisza!!
Our smallest kids took part in the FCSR first dental hygiene class last week, through the FCSR “Healthy Smile Program”. Thanks to Colgate Palmolive, they received new toothbrushes and toothpaste to take home and try out their new brushing skills!!
