DANCERS VIE FOR WE CAN DANCE HONORS

The 7th season of the WCD school dancing contest came to an end last week at the Lekowo Primary School. You could cut the tension and excitement with a knife! Over 150 contestants from 8 schools, pre-school through middle school took part in the program throughout the fall, under the direction of Basia Kolasinska, FCSR Arts and Dance Director. This program is one of the highlights of the school year for our PromiseKids. Congratulations to all who participated and especially the winners! (See pictures below)

A special thanks to sponsor Coca Cola HBC Polska and Nikos Kalaitzidakis GM of Coca Cola for providing all the cappy juices for the dancers. A big thank you to the Principal of the Lekowo School, Jakub Szynkowski and the head of the Teacher&Students Committee, Róża Tabaszewska, together with the students for their fantastic organization!

NEW FCSR PROGRAM FOR 2018!

We are excited to announce a new FCSR after school program for 2018: ROBOTICS. We’d like to help our PromiseKids become part of the Age of Technology in this fun and exciting program.

Unfortunately, we can’t do it without your help. We’re looking for sponsors/companies who might be interested in supporting this program for the Spring semester. The cost is approximately 7500 PLN or 1700 USD for supplies and instruction. If you’re interested, please contact Meg Ciucka, FCSR Operations Director.

Our kids were able to participate in a demonstration program last month.

They loved it and learned so much. Click on the link https://youtu.be/R5prj0CwrLQ

SANTA’S ELVES FROM THE BRITISH SCHOOL PTA ARRIVE IN THE PROMISELAND!

What an outstanding event! Everyone agreed; it exceeded our kids expectations. What? Why, for the 6th year in a row, the arrival of presents from the British School PTA/Student Giving Christmas Tree! Only this year was extra special…

Usually the very generous parents, teachers and students from the British School (Warsaw) collect the gifts and send them via FCSR member company Move One, for distribution by Basia and Meg. But, this year, 2 parents from the PTA, 2 teachers, and 6 kids from 12-15 years old made the trip in person to play Santa and give out the presents!

First, the “elves” went to the Swidwin Special School to visit with 120 disabled children and then to the Oparzno Schol where they met with 84 PromiseKids. The students from the British School thoroughly enjoyed themselves in giving presents away. Everyone sang Christmas carols and our Oparzno pupils had a chance to practice their English.

A special thanks to member comany Move One for delivering all the gifts in perfect condition and right on time - as always!

A great time was had by all!

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

“Christmas is the perfect time to celebrate the love of God and family and to create memories that will last forever. Jesus is God's perfect, indescribable gift. The amazing thing is that not only are we able to receive this gift, but we are able to share it with others on Christmas and every other day of the year. ”
